Meet Our Team: A Q&A with Christine Godzich

The strength of any treatment program lies in the people behind it, the individuals who show up each day with a commitment to connection, compassion, and meaningful change. At BrightQuest, that commitment is reflected across every role, shaping the experience of clients and families alike.

Our Meet Our Team series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the voices and perspectives that bring our work to life. Each Q&A highlights not just what our team members do, but why they do it—and how their experiences influence the way they approach care.

In this feature, we connect with Christine Godzich, Community Outreach Liaison at BrightQuest San Diego. She shares more about her role, her perspective on recovery, and what continues to inspire her work in the field.

Q: Tell us about your role! What do you do at BrightQuest and what do you love most about your job?  What specialties or therapeutic approaches do you bring to your work?

A: My role ultimately aims to be the outside representation of BrightQuest San Diego as I build relationships and make BrightQuest have a local footprint for changing lives. I love that I get to be the liaison between the community and BrightQuest to ensure people are getting the help they need.

Q: What is your “why?” What motivated or inspired you to be in this field?

A: I’ve always been drawn to healthcare as I deeply care about helping others. My own family history of losing a loved one to substance abuse and watching others I care about struggle with their mental health always serves as a reminder that I’m able to play a small part in the amazing work we do.

Q: In your opinion, what are the strengths at BrightQuest? What makes them unique?

A: BrightQuest truly can be the one-stop-shop that can end the treatment cycle that many unfortunately find themselves in. It does an incredible job at combining both family support and introducing Independent Living Skills back into a client’s life, where once they may have struggled with life tasks due to their mental health diagnosis – they spend the time with BrightQuest reorienting and renewing their life for the real world.

Q: What makes you excited to be a part of the BrightQuest Team?

A: The staff at BrightQuest is world-class. BrightQuest has existed for almost 50 years with many of the staff being there for 10-20 years of it. This is almost unheard of in the treatment space! The team loves the care they provide while also modeling the same standards amongst themselves as they require by the clients.

Q: What is your hope for the future of BrightQuest?

A: The hope is that we can keep doing what we’ve been doing for almost 50 years – providing people with the care they need that leaves deep, meaningful impacts with lives forever changed.

Q: What do you wish more people knew about your profession?

A: As a community outreach liaison, you are the face, voice, and availability of the company. Your availability and willingness to help others can be the difference in someone’s life being permanently changed.

Q: Is there a personal philosophy or guiding principle that shapes the way you approach care?

A: In order for people to be helped, they have to be truly seen and accepted.
